About the Course

Based in a village a few miles outside Buckingham I run Wildlife pastel workshops at my home studio set in six acres of countryside.

Workshops develop in an un-hurried, relaxing way to enable you to develop your own style. I explain the different types of pastels, papers and other materials and accessories used in pastel painting. How to apply, blend and detail using pastel blocks, pencils and chalks.

Workshop Outline - The characterful Hare:
1. Studying your subject and choosing the right colours
2. Transferring images on to your paper
3. Underpainting and values
4. Detailing eyes and other facial features
5. Fur or feather detail and how to achieve a realistic look
6. Finishing touches

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All materials are included in the cost of the workshop together with plenty of tea, coffee and soft drinks and a light lunch. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

You are very welcome to bring a camera and take lots of photographs of my very obliging donkeys, ponies, goats and chickens for reference material!
