About the Course
Option 1: Head into Heddle
This is an introduction to hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom.
Rigid-heddle looms are small, easy to store, and simple to set up.
While the word "rigid" might suggest limited options, this loom style allows for versatile patterns and techniques.
In this workshop you will learn how to select your weaving materials, warp the loom and weave a lovely runner or scarf in your chosen colours, all in two days.
You will also learn:-
Basic weaving terminology
Prepare a warp using the direct warping method
Warp the loom
Weave your cloth
Option 2: Tap into Tapestry
You will create a woven wall hanging using new and interesting tapestry weaving techniques including: tabby, pick and pick, hatching, rya knots, soumak, shapes, fleece clustering, colour blending, outlining.
For those of you travelling from afar, we have BnB facilities available. Should you need accommodation please mention it in your email when you enrol.

What's included in the price?
Use of a rigid heddle loom is included and all weaving materials are included.
By the end of the course you will have proudly woven your very own fabric suitable for use as a table runner or scarf.
Yarns, frame looms and equipment will be provided on the Tap Into Tapestry course. However, you are more than welcome to bring any yarns, fibres, fleece or textures of particular interest to you.
Tea and coffee, refreshments, and a light lunch are provided on each day. Please bring your own food if you have special dietary requirements. A fridge is available.
