About the Course

Join us at our first Masterclass in the UK!

Would you like to learn how to create your very own headpieces, fascinators… transforming them into unique jewel headresses?

…or perhaps you’re passionate about hats, fascinators, headdresses and would like to start learning more about the art of millinery!

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for all abilities:
• Beginners who would like to make headdresses for an upcoming event
• People who would like to start out in the world of millinery
• Professionals in millinery and fashion who want to add to their skills.

What will I learn?

On this 2-day workshop you will learn how to create two exclusive headpieces with Italian mesh together with other embellishments.

Italian mesh is a flexible metallic lace ribbon used by millinery, costume, jewellery designers and crafters. It can be stretched to create ruffles, waves, and different shapes with wire so as to hold its shape and make original and exclusive designs.

You will learn how to form and shape the mesh ribbon using different techniques; make leaves and flowers whereby you can create floral compositions, wire cristals and different embellishments, and make beautiful designs assembled onto a vine or headband with silk thread.

By the end of the course you will take home two unique headdresses!

This is a completely hands-on practical learning experience which focuses on the skills used to design these jewel headresses, where our creativity can run wild and where we can share ideas and inspire each other. Creativity has no limits!!!

Who will be giving the course?

There will be two teachers so all abilities are welcome and to ensure each student gets personalized attention the class sizes are 5 to 10 students maximum

Geraldine Penistone and Belen Escacha have been designing bespoke headdresses since 2012 and 2008, and have trained with national and international milliners. They are both members of the Spanish Association of Milliners.

Want to review this course?

I highly recommend this course. I did this course last year because I wanted to make a headdress for a wedding. Belén and Geraldine really know how to transmit the creativity and inspire you with the knowledge. They explained everything clearly and the classes were very organised. I will surely do another course when I have another wedding!!

Thank you Piedad! Really enjoyed having you on the course and hope you have another wedding soon!

Great course! I’ve done different kinds of courses and I decided to do the course to learn other techniques to add to my fashion designs. What I liked the most was how they explained and guided us through every step, the technique , the friendly and relaxing atmosphere in the group, even though no time was wasted! Thanks, Geraldine and Belen! xx
