Come and join for our 2 day Hand-Spinning course. We are located in a beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands. Participants learn or improve their spinning using our own or local Shetland fleece. We dye our fleece using natural dyes either foraged from our woodland or dyed using ancient imported dyes, creating stunning colours to spin with. Bridie teaches spinning on our courses and has been teaching spinning in the Highland's of Scotland for over 20 years and has her own mixed flock of sheep. Bridie is a wonderfully relaxed teacher who guides the class through step by step, starting off with drop spindling and moving on to the spinning wheel. Each participant has a chance to try different types of spinning wheels over the two days. Each participant will learn or improve how to hand spin fleece, creating unique stunning wool. Join is in the woods and learn something new in a beautiful place!
Each day runs from 10am-4pm and includes lunch on both days. There is accommodation at Kerrow house and all meals available if guests are not local and want to stay. Participants can also lengthen their stay and spend 2 days natural dyeing their fleece before they spin it!
