Course Length: 1 day
5 star rating, 8 reviewers.
Enjoy a relaxed, fun and informal day making stained glass sun-catchers, funky tea light holders or mobiles using the Tiffany foiling method.
You will be carefully taken through all the processes, helping you to develop the skills of glass cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering.
Each student will go home with some wonderful and individual pieces that they have created that day. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
I offer two very different types of stained glass workshop:
Tiffany Style/Copper Foil method
This refers to stained glass work in the style of Louis Comfort Tiffany where each piece of glass is wrapped in copper foil before being soldered together. This method is generally used for making gifts and smaller pieces such as sun-catchers.
Traditional Lead - Panels or Stained Glass Windows
In these classes we use the centuries old method which has hardly changed since the 12th century. A panel or window consists of pieces of coloured glass held together strips of lead came which is then soldered at the joins and finally cemented to create a weatherproof window.
