This course is suitable for all beginners; for those who want to learn stained glass leading in a friendly manner. Learn how to Lead stained glass panels / windows, in the company of a small relaxed group and for some time-out in the homely, informal setting of Jamal Rafay’s artist studio!

A one day crash course covers, introduction, design for stained glass, introduction to Medium, Materials, Glass cutting, Glass Leading and cementing.
If you are interested to go further on a particular aspect of the craft for example, glass painting or drawing, then a tailor-made coaching approach is provided to assist your own needs.
No previous stained glass experience is necessary.
A maximum of 2-3 participants per workshop.
Jamal Rafay is a professional stained glass artist. He have been making quality stained glass from his studio in Birmingham, UK. Jamal is into art for the last 23 years and in stained glass for the last 13 years. He has worked for several years at John Hardman Studios (est. 1838) as chief designer. Now, he produces painted stained glass from his little studio “Stained Glassic’’ (est. 2011) in Birmingham, UK.
What's included in the price?
From a very basic introduction to professional stained glass techniques are covered within the workshop. The beginners will learn the essential stained glass skills: from design, drawing, glass cutting, leading and so on.
All equipment and a generous abundance of materials provided to use during the course.
You can bring an empty sketchbook or with some of your rough doodles but it is not necessary at all.
You will be provided a glass piece or a selection of small pieces (about 6-7 pieces) to work from. You will be able to finish your project within 6 hours during a one day workshop and will be able to take your panel with you (visit my own website for more images and details). All materials and tools are included in the cost expect if you would like to buy something extra. Gloves and aprons are also provided so you do not have to bring your own. Though you are welcome to bring your own tools if you want to. Please do bring a packed lunch - Tea and coffee is also provided at any time during the workshop. :)
Please arrive by 8:55 am for a 9.00 am start... and we'll have the kettle on!
