Come along and learn the art of napkin decoupage. You will go away at the end of the day with a new skill (which will probably turn into a passion....) and a beautiful, unique, decoupaged wooden box which you can keep for yourself or give away as a present. Designs are extremely varied, from flowers, bees, butterflies and ladybirds, to cupcakes, biscuits, shells, beach huts, and fairies, pirates, footballs..... There are literally hundreds of designs, and bowls can be decorated to be suitable for adult, child, male or female.
During the day we will paint our boxes, cut and prepare paper napkin decoration, choosing from Heather's huge stock of napkins, learn how to apply, and varnish to a professional finish. All materials and tools (except scissors) will be provided, and there will be plenty of time to drink tea/coffee, chat, exchange and receive ideas and inspiration.
Materials for continuing with your new skill at home will be on sale as well.
Heather runs her own business producing and selling bowls, boxes and other decoupaged wooden items, and is an experienced decoupager and teacher (and maker of yummy chocolate cake....)
Maximum 6 people per course. Limited B&B available at extra cost.
What's included in the price?
All materials needed to produce a beautiful wooden box. All you need to bring along are a small pair of sharp scissors and a packed lunch.
Tea, coffee, biscuits and homemade chocolate cake provided throughout the day!
Heather, really knows her stuff. She is a good and patient teacher and has a really good eye for art and is willing to give wise advice on your creation. Her art room/class setting is like a piece of paradise - The Good Life! - added bonus is the home grown produce hanging to dry, homemade bottled jams & chutneys, bath & body products, etc all around to smell and admire.
I can not recommend this class enough. A calming day out and the learning of a new skill.
What an excellent day. My daughter and I attended a one day course and had such fun. Everyone was lovely and Heather was a patient and expert teacher. We both came home with beautifully decorated boxes which we will treasure. We will definitely be back for more!
A very good way to spend a day. Heather is relaxed, helpful and encouraging and makes a very good cake! With the days instructions, refreshments and personalised memory box to take home it was very good value for money. I definitely recommend it.
Throughly enjoyed this course. Heather was very friendly and this was a lovely relaxed course so great even if your like me and not very good or inexperience. Our finished products were so good. Highly recommend.
A great one day course with a very welcoming, enthusiastic and experienced tutor. Easily accessible by underground or by car. We worked at our own pace and Heather explained everything carefully, gave us tips and recommendations, clear instructions and plenty of tea, coffee and chocolate cake! As promised there were loads of resources to choose from and a completed box at the end. A relaxing day and great fun as well as very productive. Thank you, Heather.
I was welcomed and made to feel at home by Heather who expertly and patiently took us through the various steps that ended with me bringing home a lovely box that I was proud to give to my little Grandson . It was a very relaxing day spent with lovely company ( also enjoyed some lovely homemade chocolate cake ! ) I'm now inspired to do more découpaging . Thank you Heather !
This is the first time I have done a course doing something creative and I have to say it was loads of fun. Everyone, including the host, was wonderful, and the day was just relaxed whilst learning a fun and creative new skill. Heather was a great teacher and incredibly calm and patient. Glad I did this course and would definitely recommend it. The home made chocolate cake was delicious too! :)
