Our 10 week upholstery classes are on: Tuesdays
3hr morning between 9.30am-12.30pm or afternoon between 1- 4pm
You will be introduced to basic upholstery techniques and tools, and as you become more advanced, will be guided on a more sophisticated level, as appropriate. No experience necessary.
Dining chairs, stools and loose seats would be a suitable project for the beginner, while advanced students can work on more intricate projects.

Working in a more relaxed atmosphere, you can work on a variety of different projects, working at your own pace under our expert guidance. If you have little or no experience start with something simple and move on from there.

A wonderful morning on Wednesday with Sheila Nash who has been teaching upholstery for over 10 years. The classic footstool workshop is a one-day extravaganza combining painting techniques with upholstery, perfect for beginners... And lunch is included as well.
You will start the day with a solid hardwood frame and throughout the day you will follow the step by step guidance of the workshop leader, learning all about the tools and materials used, as well as covering lots of techniques from webbing, applying hessian and wadding, cutting fabric and corners.
This full on day workshop serves as an excellent introduction to upholstery whilst also offering you the opportunity to make a beautiful and incredibly stylish stool.
