Two qualified Art Tutors, with BA (hons) and Masters in Fine Art, who provide workshops and private tuition designed for all ages and abilities. Tuition is offered in a range of art mediums and techniques to include drawing, paint, print, photography, 3D and mixed media. Private tuition is held at our homes in Faversham and Herne Bay. Workshops can be held at your venue. The cost of tuition starts at £15 per hour.

The Cyanotype photographic printing process was used in the 19th century by architects, engineers and scientists to copy drawings. By mixing Ferric Ammonium Citrate and Potassium Ferricyanide with sunlight, beautiful blue images are created. It is such a magical process and people are always really pleased and excited with their results. NB. the chemical is odourless and harmless when used under normal conditions. Using the Cyanotype process, you will learn how to light-sensitise watercolour paper and fabric, place objects on top and then expose to light to create blue prints....

This type of printing is unique in that it is a form of photography that does not require a camera or an expensive darkroom. I will provide gloves and aprons but it's best not to wear your favourite clothes just in case you get chemicals on them. You are welcome to bring your own materials (stencils, negatives, flowers etc) and play around with the prints. I will provide all other materials, including a hair dryer..... all will be revealed! Sun printing is a primitive form of photography. Using cyanotype chemicals and sunshine you can capture plants and objects onto paper, textiles and silk. Bridget mainly works with silk and other natural materials creating beautiful sun printed scarves, cushions and bags building up from working on paper, to experimenting with setacolour soleil colour printing depending on which direction you wish to go in.

Learn how to create cyanotype prints – the original Victorian blue print. Taking inspiration from the garden and hedgerows around the farm, you’ll use seasonal plants and flowers to produce original prints. At the end of the session you’ll take home your three or four small A6 prints and one larger A4 size print. They’ll look great on the wall at home!
