Fine jewellery making or gold and silver smithing courses will usually cover the precise metalworking techniques required to design and create jewellery using precious metals and gemstones. Ring making may well be covered as well as soldering techniques, polishing and the use of hand tools. Depending on the course you could work with gold, silver, platinum or you may start out using brass, copper or nickel.
