Bring your favourite paperback or simple cloth bound book that needs a repair and lets see if we can mend it or give it a new lease of life. Using basic glued repairs and sawing in of cords and supports we can rebind single sheet books. Also you will make a case binding of cloth and learn how these can be repaired.
Joni Essex is the director of the Gallery, and has made leather journals for the past 25 years. She uses simple bookbinding techniques and sometimes incorporates found objects and unconventional methods to produce journals which are completely unique to one another.
