Our willow weaving courses are an ideal place to start to learn willow weaving. We run one or two day courses. The one day courses are on two consecutive days so you can opt to come for both days or just one. On your first day you will be taught all the basics and shown different techniques to enable you to make simple willow baskets and decorative items. If you are coming for two days you should be able to go home with a completed basket and/ or a couple of smaller decorative items.

Here at Faerie-thyme we grow a lot of our own willow, and you will have the opportunity to have a wander round the site during the day. This is a 3 acre smallholding in a very beautiful part of Wales.

You can also book to stay, as we have a small secluded campsite here. Courses are run throughout the year in our garden room, and when its chilly the log burner is always alight, which means the kettle is always on.

Course numbers are limited to 4 people to give me plenty of time to show everyone all the different ways of creating beautiful willow work. Please note there needs to be 2 people booked onto a specific date for the course to run. Please, when booking if you have a possible second date in mind, that helps with the bookings.

What's included in the price?

We have a full range of tools for you to use, all willow is included in the price. Hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day, with a home made cake for afternoon tea. Please bring your own packed lunch.

Want to review this course?

I attended the willow weaving course with my husband who is not a craft person and normally has his head under a car bonnet on the weekends....but he loved it, and made a huge obelisk to support his sweet peas in the garden!! I found willow weaving very relaxing and therapeutic, and would thoroughly recommend this course. In one day, besides the obelisk, we made a willow heart, a daisy and a dragonfly!
Many thanks Irene and Wish for a super day!
