As a beginner who has only dabbled many many years ago, it was wonderful to take a class with Claire. I am now well on my way with a granny stripe blanket, after having a refresher class on double and treble stitch. Claire gave me the confidence to start reading a pattern and to be able to go home with the confidence that "I can do it". Claire is extremely patient. I will be back for another class.
Claire has really helped me with my confidence in crochet. I can now follow a pattern where I couldn't before. She teaches in a lovely welcoming environment in small groups so you get lots of attention and help when you need it. I would recommend Claire in a heartbeat.
Loved this course, you learn as a small group in a really simple way how to start and learn the basic stitches. With only a few people it's easy to be the slowest and ask for help ! I haven't stopped crocheting since I learned, making flowers, hats, scarves, handwarmers, snowflakes amongst other experiments ! Would definitely recommend this course, you'll be hooked :o)
Claire has developed my crochet beyond all expectations from absolute beginner to really quite independent and confident maker of all sorts. She provides excellent 'after sales service' too - is always interested and willing to help with a pattern / discuss projects etc. I have done her absolute beginners, her owls, flowers, Tunisian crochet, cotton crochet doilies, cotton collars, beanie hats, wristwarmers and join-as-you-go scarf - I did fear brain meltdown on that last course, but Claire patiently got me through it with great success! I can't recommend her highly enough.
I really enjoyed my learn to crochet course, it wasn't pressured as it was over 2 weeks, we even had a bit of homework!! Which I started on as soon as I got home. Crochet has become a real passion for me I love it and thanks to Claire I'm now making all sorts of things : ) I'd recommend this course to anyone as crochet is a great stress reliever and handy for making homemade gifts
I cannot believe how I have managed in life without the ability to crochet! I did this course with Claire and she has opened a whole new world to me. I have gone on to do a number of her crochet courses all which have been superb and I have left very pleased with myself. The crochet itself is such a stress buster, I have recently had to spend a very stressful time sitting for days at my daughters hospital bed and to tell the truth I think they would have had to find me a bed if it hadn't been for the crocheting. Thank you Claire, you have given me a skill that will last a life time.
I was lucky enough to be given a voucher for this course for Christmas by my lovely husband and it was brilliant!
Classes are small, so Claire can give you lots of one to one help. The relaxed atmosphere is very conducive to learning. Claire has an excellent teaching style and is full of encouragement which means her students blossom under her care!
I have since gone on to do her granny stripe jar cover class and am in the middle of the crochet wreath class - so in addition to teaching you the basics, Claire and help you progress as well.
An added bonus to the classes is that I have made lots of new friends. The environment that Claire provides helps everyone to relax, open up and, more often than not, have a really good laugh - you can't help but make friends!
I would recommend her classes to everyone, even those with no crochet/crafting/sewing skills at all - you won't regret it!
I am not at all crafty and rather cack handed for want of a better phrase. Claire worked her magic on me though and I can now crochet. I would highly recommend Claire's classes to anyone from novice (like me) to the more experienced.
Claire is a great teacher who is patient with all her students. The flowers and owls she's taught us to make are super cute. Her new craft course venue is fantastic and I can't wait to try out some of her other classes too.
